In 2019 BWTP supported the 16th annual Inclusive Finance India Summit which took place in New Delhi from 4-5 December. The Summit provided a major platform for hundreds of stakeholders to interact and enable action through partnerships, innovation and facilitating policy support for greater financial inclusion in India. As part of the Summit proceedings, the annual Inclusive Finance India Report was also formally launched.
The Inclusive Finance India Report, an annual publication (since 2006) of ACCESS Development Services, is an in-depth, well researched, well-analyzed reporting on how financial inclusion in India has progressed over the year. The Report is a unique one-stop-shop reference book that summarizes the advancements made in financial inclusion in one year along in both policy and practice as well as conclusions on the true and tangible gains that may have accrued to those who have been brought into the fold of formal finance in India.
The Report collates disparate strands within the financial eco-system, analyzes policy, aggregates scattered data and insights from various publicly available data sources, reviews secondary literature, and involves consultations with key stakeholders to present a coherent and well-articulated state of sector document. The Report tracks financial inclusion progress through analysis of various policies and programs of the government, the role of the regulator, performance of various financial institutions, last-mile challenges, and arrives at a few conclusions on the true and tangible gains that may have accrued to those who have been brought into the fold of formal finance in India.
