Hello, fast, easy, and hearty breakfast! These air fryer omelets might just become your new favorite go-to meal.

They’re fantastic for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and are easily customizable for your favorite ingredients.

Can You Make an Omelette in an Air Fryer?

Yes, and they are delicious! Omelets in the air fryer are simple to make and require very little babysitting. Depending on the ingredients you’re adding to your omelet, you can set it and forget it.

Making an air fryer omelet is not any faster than making one on the stove, but it does give you options depending on the setup of your kitchen and which appliances you have access to.

Additionally, when using the air fryer to cook eggs, there is no flipping or turning of the omelet. If the stovetop omelet technique intimidates you a bit, give the air fryer version a try.

How Long Do You Cook an Omelet in an Air Fryer?

Each air fryer will be slightly different, and your pan will impact the cooking time. I used this 6-inch silicone cake pan and it took 10 minutes.

If you’re using a metal cake pan, the cooking time will be likely reduced to about 8 minutes. Regardless of the type of pan, I would check on the omelet halfway through the cooking time. This is also a great time to add cheese if you’re using it!

How to Make Omelets Fluffy

The secret to making fluffy omelets is simple. By vigorously whisking the eggs separately in a bowl before adding them to the pan, you create a lot of air that helps the eggs get extra fluffy while cooking.

I even take it a step further and mix the eggs and milk/cream with my immersion blender, before cooking. But if you have a bowl, a whisk, and 60 seconds, you can absolutely whisk it by hand first.

Pro Tips/Recipe Notes

  • I used whole milk (and have used cream) in this recipe but it is optional. I think it makes the omelet extra filling, but it’s the chef’s preference.
  • These omelets are thick and fluffy! If you prefer a thinner texture, only use 2 eggs and 2 tbsp of milk or cream.
  • Fully cook any meat before adding it to the egg mixture. Related: Air Fryer Bacon, Air Fryer Turkey Bacon, How to Bake Bacon, and Whole30 Sausage.
  • Watery vegetables like mushrooms or zucchini would benefit from a quick saute on the stove or 5 minutes of roasting in the air fryer before being added to the egg mixture.
  • Salt your omelet after it finishes cooking.
  • Top with homemade pesto, cilantro chimichurri, or chipotle sauce.
