Yorkshire is a historic county in England celebrated every August 1 as Yorkshire Day. According to history, it was first marked in Beverley in 1975 by the Yorkshire Ridings Society with a protest movement against the local government re-organization of 1974.
The tradition of the Yorkshire Day celebration has been preserved to date. Residents of the county celebrate the day by participating in different activities and festivals.
