So what are the best jobs for 9 year-olds to earn money at home?
Here are nine different ideas for your 9 year-old to try.
1) Extra Household Chores
First, if you’re willing to spend a bit of extra allowance money, your child could do extra chores around the house for some quick cash. They can dust, clean baseboards, declutter, or even do extra laundry. If they want to work outside, yard work, cleaning out the garage, or washing the car are great options too.
To make things easier for everyone, you can make a list or chart of what needs to be done, and the amount you’re willing to pay for it. Bonus points if they learn how to negotiate a price with you!
2) A Lemonade/Bake Sale Stand
Is your kid a whiz in the kitchen? Do they enjoy measuring and creating delicious treats? If so, and if they want to build some customer service skills, they can start a lemonade or bake sale stand!
Not only can they do this right in the front yard, but this gig can also earn them consistent money week to week. But remember that some city ordinances or neighborhoods have specific rules. Make sure you aren’t breaking any before you get your kiddo started!

Some of the best online survey sites for younger kids are KidsEyez and Swagbucks.
4) Focus Groups
If your child likes sharing their opinion or trying new items, they can sign up for focus groups. They will need your permission, but it’s possible to do these focus groups online!
These are harder to qualify for but can pay upwards of $150 per group study. That’s a lot of money for a 9-year-old! You or your child will need to keep an eye on preliminary surveys in order to see if they qualify. This is where a separate email comes in handy.

There are many different items that they could sell online, but you’ll need to make sure these items are safe for selling. No one wants to be sued, especially a child! So selling items like homemade lotion or skin care probably isn’t the best thing to do.
But, photos, jewelry, clothing, shoes, and even web design items like blog templates are great things to sell if your kid has the skills!
6) Video Game Testers
If your kiddo loves video games, they can get paid to play them and share their thoughts! While many video game testers are 18 years old or older, many games geared towards younger kids need to be tested.
This may require getting the video game shipped to your home, so you’ll need to be comfortable sharing your address. To do that, you’ll want to ensure that the site you’re signing up for is legit. Also, you should NEVER have to sign up with your social security number or credit card information. Run from the sites that ask for that information.
