One of the biggest events in the Paraplanning calendar, the ‘Big Day Out’, will return next week after a three year gap due to the pandemic.
The event, set to attract more than 100 attendees, will take place in the Cotswolds at the FarmED centre, a new venue, on 15 September
It will be preceded by the ‘Big Night In’ social gathering the evening before.
Traditionally held in a big tent, the event will this year be indoors at the FarmED centre, a demonstration farming and education centre near Chipping Norton.
Tickets for the Big Day Out cost £30 with the Big Night In costing £20. Any Paraplanners interested are advised to check the Paraplanners Assembly website for ticket availability.
The event is organised by the Paraplanners Assembly group which organises educational and knowledge-sharing events for Paraplanners all year round, often organised and run by Paraplanners.
The gathering is the first in-person event for the Big Day Out annual conference for three years after several years of virtual events.
The event will run on 15 September from 9 am to 5 pm
In keeping with the farming theme, the Big Day Out will include a blend of small group sessions, called ‘Crop Rotations’, and ‘all-together’ sessions.
In keeping with the traditionally informal style of the event the attendees will decide much of the agenda but among the topics expected to be covered are: creating a development plan and how to make it stick in real life, communicating with advisers and planners and Paraplanning processes: how to spot the problems and fix them.
There will also be a Technical Q&A and a look at Report writing.
There will potentially be informal drop-in sessions during the lunch break, one for those new to Paraplanning and the other for those considering outsourced Paraplanning.
