Top 5 Dreamforce Takeaways | Blog

This action-packed conference not only gave a glimpse into the future of Salesforce, but also enabled AppExchange Partners like Accounting Seed to gain industry insights and connect with the Salesforce Community in a personal way. Based on conversations with customers and prospects, information discovered in Salesforce-led sessions, and meetings with partners, we’ve put together the top 5 takeaways from Dreamforce 2022 that you’ll want to make note of as you plan for success in 2023

1. New Salesforce Technology Enables Custom Experiences

During the main keynote on day one of Dreamforce, titled “The Great Reunion,” Founder and Co-CEO, Marc Benioff, and Co-CEO, Bret Taylor, shared news on new Salesforce technology that is now available and insight on what is coming down the pike, including:

  • Salesforce Genie: Technology that enables highly personalized and customized customer experiences in real-time.
  • Slack Upgrades: Recently released ‘Slack Canvas’ and ‘Huddles Coworking’ provide more opportunities to capture and share data in Slack and further innovations to video chats.
  • Salesforce Flow: Flow Builder runs nearly 44 billion flow automations every single day, saving businesses time and money.

These updates and added technologies enable Salesforce users to create processes to support their unique business models, which in turn gives more time and space to focus on customer success. 2. Sustainability Remains a Crucial Part of Salesforce’s Values

Environmental protection and preservation were felt in every corner at Dreamforce. During the opening video of the main keynote, it was clear that caring for the environment and restoring it would continue to be a top priority for Salesforce. For example, Salesforce is scaling up the Ocean Research Program and continues their efforts in the “Great Reforestation,” where the company will protect endangered whales, stop plastic pollution, and restore and grow 1 trillion trees by 2023.

Salesforce continues to bring innovations to the Net Zero Cloud and Marketplace, offering businesses a way to track their sustainability efforts and automate related processes.

3. Native Apps are Key to Business Productivity

Each year, Salesforce presents the idea of a “one platform” business model and encourages companies of all sizes to run their business on the Salesforce Platform for a single source of truth. Native Salesforce applications (solutions built on the Force.com Platform) are a key part of the “one platform” model and continue to gain popularity amongst a variety of business types and sizes. Fully native solutions like Formstack, TaskRay, and Accounting Seed are top-rated on the Salesforce AppExchange and within the Salesforce Community and support a wide range of business from data collection and task management to complete accounting software.

According to The State of Salesforce 2022-23 study by IBM released at Dreamforce, surveyed customers using the Salesforce Platform to streamline their workflows have seen a 60% increase in employee satisfaction, 52% increase in actionable business insights, and have lowered business costs by 65%. Native Salesforce applications are further allowing users to tap into the power of the Salesforce Platform and increase productivity and innovation. In fact, Accounting Seed users have seen results such as a 40% increase in revenue, 80% increase in accounting process efficiency, and 15% reduction in the accounting life cycle.

4. Custom Reporting is a Necessity for All Business Sizes

Going into Dreamforce, the Accounting Seed team was keen to discover the top priorities businesses have for 2023. Based on conversations we had with current customers, prospects, and general Salesforce users, the desire for custom reporting came to the surface often.

As Salesforce continues to create technologies like Salesforce Genie for customized customer experiences, businesses are finding themselves in need of more custom reporting for management and financial reports. From custom calculations on certain rows and columns to comparative reports against current customers and upgrade opportunities, businesses are looking for more customization each year, and Salesforce solutions like Accounting Seed are stepping up to meet their needs. 5. More and More Businesses want Accounting on Salesforce

We’re seeing more business in ‘growth mode’ that have outgrown their current processes and can’t handle the manual processing and duplicate data that occurs using siloed business systems. 25% of the companies that the Accounting Seed team spoke to during Dreamforce were already feeling the pain of disparate business systems and looking for a way to connect accounting and CRM data together. Each year, more companies are looking to drop sync tools and paper pushing for solutions that are on one platform (see point #3).

A fully connected business enables companies to:

  • Save time on administrative tasks.
  • Eliminate errors caused by manual entry.
  • Accurately record revenue.
  • Deliver custom experience to their target market.

As the top-rated, fully native accounting solution on Salesforce, Accounting Seed delivers a fully connected business without the need for third party connectors or sync tools. Talk to our team today to learn more.

Dreamforce 2022 was an impressive event bringing the latest technologies to life again, live and in person.’ We hope you walked away energized with new ideas to support your business. We’ll see you in ’23
