Instacart offers a personal shopping service similar to Shipt (above). It’s very flexible. You can work whenever you want to work. Basically you pick up orders, get the items from the store, and then deliver them to people who have requested them.

Payments are made daily or weekly via direct deposit. There is a fee for cashing out daily.

2. DoorDash – Food Delivery

This is another not “at home” but flexible opportunity. DoorDash is almost always looking for drivers to accept food orders via their app and deliver them. You can work whenever you want.

Payments are made either weekly, daily, or instantly via DasherDirect or your bank account.

3. Shipt – Personal Shopping

Shipt offers an opportunity that is not “at home” but it is flexible. They hire people to be personal shoppers. So basically, you’re picking up orders via their app, collecting the items their clients need from stores, and then delivering them.

Shipt pays weekly, and it’s possible to earn around $22 an hour according to their website.

4. Rover – Pet Sitting

Rover almost always needs dog (or cat) sitters to sign up with their network. This opportunity could be “at home” if you did the pet sitting from your house. However, some of your clients may prefer you do the sitting at their houses.

According to Rover, you could earn $100 or more per week pet sitting for them. This is paid via check or Paypal within a few business days after your sitting appointment.

5. Cambly – ESL Tutoring

Cambly hires people to work at home teaching English to non-native speakers of the language. They pay out earnings every Monday via Paypal. According to Cambly, you can earn around $10 an hour tutoring for them.

6. SlicethePie – Reviewing Music

SlicethePie is a very popular site that will pay you to review music (as well as some other things). Basically you just listen to a snippet of a track, rate it, and write a few sentences with your thoughts on what you heard. SlicethePie is good for supplemental income only.

SlicethePie pays via Paypal on Tuesdays and Fridays each week. You have to have at least $10 in your account to get paid, but for most people, this is very possible.

7. Amazon MTurk – Short Tasks

Working online for Amazon MTurk means you have access to a vast pool of short tasks. You pick and choose which ones you’d like to work on. Tasks include data entry, transcription, image tagging, and everything in between.

It’s possible to get paid every single day with Amazon MTurk. After the task requester approves your work, you can request payout with as little as $1 in your account.

Payments are sent via direct deposit to your bank, or you have the option to spend the money on Amazon.

8. Studypool – Academic Tutoring

Studypool is a popular online platform for homework help. If you sign up as a Studypool tutor, you can get paid to provide this help to students who need it.

You can withdraw your tutoring earnings at any time on Studypool. It should take about three business days for payments to process after you’ve requested them.

9. Allegis Transcription – Transcription Jobs

Allegis is always looking for skilled transcribers to join their team. Most of the transcription online jobs from home they do is for insurance and legal industries.

10. Blue Zebra – Appointment Setting

Blue Zebra is regularly hiring people to work at home making “cold calls.” So if sales isn’t your thing, you may not want to apply here. You must have to five to seven years of experience in sales to be considered.

13. TranscribeMe – Transcription Jobs

TranscribeMe accepts transcribers with or without experience to transcribe audio files for their clients. This site does pay on the lower end when it comes the industry norm for most transcription companies, and many applicants say their skills test is hard to pass.

14. Textbroker – Freelance Writing

Textbroker is always hiring new freelance writers to create content for their clients. The work is posted in a large pool so once accepted, you are free to pick and choose the projects you want to work on at your writing level.

15. Quicktate – Transcription

Quicktate is another transcription company that is open to hiring complete beginners. You do have to take a skills test in order to be considered for work. Quicktate is open to considering applicants outside the United States. They do run a background check on new applicants, and this costs $15.

16. OnPoint Advocacy – Advocacy Coordinators

As an Advocacy Coordinator for OnPoint, you will coordinate outbound outreach efforts via telephone and written communications. This online job from home is project-based, and you must agree to work a minimum of 25 hours per week when there is an active project.

Similar to Amazon MTurk (above), you work at home for Clickworker doing a variety of easy online tasks that you may pick and choose. Clickworker allows you to log in and work whenever you want as well.

Payments are made weekly. Cickworker will also process your payments monthly if that’s what you prefer. Payments are made via SEPA or Paypal, your choice.

18. LanguageLine Solutions – Translation & Interpretation

LanguageLine hires people from the US, Canada, UK, and Costa Rica to work on their many interpretation and translation jobs. So if you are from any of these areas and you are fluent in another language apart from English, LanguageLine may be a fit for you.

The information on pay isn’t currently posted on LanguageLine’s website, but old information indicates that you are paid weekly.

19. Verblio – Freelance Writing

This is a content site formerly known as BlogMutt. Basically, the clients who need content post it. You are free to grab any jobs you like, but there is no guarantee the client will “buy” your work. Still, some people are apparently able to do well here. You must be a US citizen to write for them.

Verblio allows you to invoice weekly for payment.

20. Rev – Transcription

If you have strong English skills, a computer, and a dependable internet connection, you may qualify to take on transcription work for Rev. You will have to pass a skills test before they will consider you for work.

Rev pays weekly via Paypal for all audio files transcribed the previous week.

Babbletype is an older, well-known company for transcription, transcription QA, and also translation. You work for them as an independent contractor, and you set your own schedule.

22. NiceTalk – ESL Tutoring

As a NiceTalk tutor, you help people who do not speak native English learn fluency via one-on-one video chat. Applicants with TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate or IELTS/TOEFL teaching experience are preferred, but only English fluency is required.

You are paid for each full minute you spend talking ($10 hourly). Payments are made weekly via Paypal as long as you have at least $20 in your account.

23. Skooli – Academic Tutoring

Skooli hires online academic tutors on a regular basis. Pay is high — most people working for this company earn at least $20 an hour.

To become a Skooli tutor you will need one or more of the following: Bachelor’s degree and teaching certification, Master’s degree or PhD, state or provincial teaching license, or ESL or other language qualification.

As long as you have earned $100, you can request payouts from Skooli. These are sent to Paypal shortly after you request them. So if you earn at least $100 a week (and it seems that is possible with this company), then you should see payment weekly or more often.

24. The HOTH – Freelance Writing

The HOTH is almost always looking for new freelance writers for their blog writing service. To qualify, you must be a native English speaker with some experience keeping deadlines.

Payments are made weekly.

25. Crowd Content – Freelance Writing

This is a site that regularly accepts content writers. As a writer for Crowd Content, you can either pick and choose from their marketplace, or you can work on managed content projects.

Crowd Content pays twice a week. Payments come via Paypal, and you must have at least $10 in your account to receive a payment.

26. NextWave Advocacy – Organizers & Writers

This opportunity is similar to OnPoint Advocacy (above). NextWave is almost always looking for independent contractors to work as organizers and writers to get involved in political issues at the federal, state, and local levels.

They claim to be a non-partisan firm. This is project-based work, so you may not always have something to work on.

With Upcall, you work at home completing customer service and sales calls. They pay you hourly. You must be a US resident to qualify.

This company is regularly hiring experienced legal transcribers, and they tend to have lots of work available to keep you busy. You must be able to type at least 70+ WPM to qualify. They are open to US residents, but cannot hire people residing in Massachusetts at this time.

This is a company that hires for general transcription. They are one of the lowest-paying companies that I’m aware of, so if you’re accepted, you may want to just see it as supplemental income.

Kelly Connect is regularly hiring work at home customer service reps. They are best known for their work with Apple. So if hired, you may be helping to support customers using Apple products.

31. Colony Brands – Customer Service

Colony Brands — a company well-known for their catalogs — is frequently hiring work at home customer service reps. They generally hire in specific states, including Nevada, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Missouri.

While their pay frequency isn’t listed on their website, I was able to find out after doing some digging that they do pay weekly.

32. Humanatic – Call Reviewing

Humantic pays people to listen to recorded phone calls and categorize them. This is pretty easy work, but the pay is extremely low. You may want to consider this just extra money if you’re accepted to work for them.

Upwork (formerly known as ODesk) is a popular work platform for freelancers. You can bid on all kinds of contract jobs across a variety of industries and skillsets.

On Upwork, you can set up your own payment schedule, so it is possible to get weekly payments.

34. Field Agent – Smartphone App

Field Agent is a smartphone app that pays you to go around to stores in your town and gather information. It’s available for iPhone and Android devices. This should just be considered supplemental income.

In most cases, payments are made within a few days of cashing out. The majority of jobs pay $1 to $12 each.

UserTesting has been around for a number of years now. They pay up to $60 for usability tests you participate in for their clients. This is pretty easy work that doesn’t take long. You just visit a website or an app, complete some tasks, and speak your thoughts aloud.

Payments are made via Paypal within seven days of your completed tests.

36. UserFeel – Website Usability Testing

This is another website usability testing site similar to UserTesting, above. It works in pretty much the same way, except UserFeel promises up to $30 per test. And again, this is one is also just good for supplemental income.

UserFeel pays via Paypal or Amazon gift cards, and you can expect payment within seven days of your completed and approved tests.

37. Get A Copywriter – Freelance Writing

Get a Copywriter is frequently looking for new copywriters to join their team, working from home. The amount you earn per assignment depends on the length. They are open to hiring people worldwide.

Payments are made weekly once you have $15 in your account. Writers in the US get paid by bank draft through Bill.com, and writers in other countries get paid by Paypal.

This is a very low-paying content site, but they are regularly open to writers. Hire Writers is currently accepting writers from the United States of America, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Singapore and New Zealand.

At Broadpath, Customer Service Representatives will be responsible for navigating Healthplan members through the Health Insurance landscape through excellent service. They will supply you with much of the equipment needed to do the job.

Pay frequency is not indicated on Broadpath’s hiring page, but I found reports online from people who work for them saying you are paid weekly.
