I don’t believe in new year’s resolutions. I believe that you can inspire change within yourself whenever you want. New month, new goals!
I’ve shared some money affirmations before, but this time around, I wanted to bring some mantras alongside some realistic monthly goals. I think it’s always important to try and better yourself, and simple monthly goals are a great way to channel that focus and energy into something attainable.
Mantras help keep our minds focused on the moment and give us the confidence to meet our goals. Choose a mantra, then repeat it every day as a reminder as to what you’re working towards.
After a month, you’d be surprised how much you’ve accomplished and how simple it can be to instill a new, good habit. For each new month, find a new goal below to inspire you and a mantra to help keep you on track.
New month, new financial goals
Here are some simple money goals and affirmations for each new month.
Begin investing
Begin your investing education by asking questions about investing. What do you already understand? What confuses you? Asking these questions can help you start learning more about how investing works. You don’t need much to start investing at all, especially with a robo-advisor!
I deserve to be wealthy.
Create a budget
If you’ve never done budgeting before, now is the time to start! Budgeting is my bread and butter, and I have plenty of tips for getting started, including a free budgeting class.
Every dollar I spend will come back to me.
Use a cash envelope system
Whatever happened to cash? Get hold of your expenses by allocating cash for the month and use it for all of your purchases.
I can look at my finances without worry.
Cook at home
For 30 days, see if you can challenge yourself to cook at home for every meal. Eating out can literally eat up your budget.
I know how to spend money wisely.
Pack lunch every day
Do you work away from home? Eating out for lunch at work can easily become a habit. Turn it around by making an effort to pack lunch daily for you and your family.
I have the power to build the wealth I deserve.
Pay off a credit card
If you have a credit card that you’ve been meaning to pay off, now is the time! Cut expenses and dedicate all extra cash flow this month to your credit card.
Debt does not control me. I control my own finances.
Contribute to savings
What are you saving for? Whether it’s a long-term goal like retirement or a vacation coming up next month, push yourself to contribute more to savings this month.
I am a part of the universal supply of money.
New month, new health goals
Here are some great things to try this month, along with mantras to help you on the path of bettering your health.
Exercise (x) times a week
Whether it’s going for a walk or hitting up the gym, get active any way you want, however often you want. You know your body best!
I am in charge of my health through better exercise.
Try meal prepping
If you struggle to find time to prepare healthy meals, dedicate one night every week to meal prep healthy meals for you and the family.
I give my body what it needs.
Eat breakfast every morning
If you’re like me and tend to skip breakfast, try your best to incorporate the most important meal of the day into your schedule.
I nourish my body and my spirit.
Drink more water
Hydrate! Getting enough water is something so many of us struggle with. Carry a water bottle wherever you go and track how much you drink.
Every cell of my body is beautiful and important.
Go to bed earlier
Sleep is an important part of the day that many of us don’t get enough of. Try to turn off the TV and the brain earlier for a more restful month.
I listen to my body.
Limit screen time
Between cell phones, laptops, and TVs, it’s nearly impossible to get away from screens. Try to cap the amount of time you spend staring at screens.
I control how I spend my time.
Give up fast food
If you find yourself going through the drive-through for a quick bite, try to eliminate eating fast food for the month. Instead, pack snacks in the car and lunch when you need them.
I keep my body clean.
New month, new work or school goals
Whether when working or going to school, these affirmations and simple goals are here to inspire.
Use time blocking
Time blocking is where you allocate every minute of your day ahead of time to keep on track with your daily goals and to-do list.
I can properly manage my time.
Network
Make an effort to meet new people this month. Join a networking group, attend an event, or even find a new study buddy.
I am passionate about what I do.
Listen to an educational podcast
Turn downtime like cooking or driving into educational time by listening to an educational podcast about a new subject.
I am open to new possibilities.
Study for one hour
Stop the need to cram for tests by studying for one hour daily. For work, you can use this one hour to dedicate to a long-term project or goal.
I am as smart as the people who built this world.
Find an accountability buddy
Find someone with similar availability and work to help keep each other accountable for completing work and reaching goals.
I work hard to achieve my goals.
Join a mastermind group
Find like-minded peers to help lift each other up by providing advice and references to others.
I surround myself with people who lift me up.
New month, new self-care goals
We all want to reach goals, but taking time to care for ourselves should be a goal within itself.
Read every day
Reading is a great way to relax the body, escape screens, and expand the mind. Dedicate time every day to read a book or article.
I am open to learning new things.
Start journaling
Work through your thoughts by keeping up with a journal every day. Journals are your own personal space to vent about your day, the good and the bad!
I am true to myself.
Wake up earlier
Do you have a tendency to hit the snooze button or turn off your alarm and roll over? Instead, start your day off bright and early by challenging yourself to wake up earlier.
I will have a good day.
Declutter your home
Spend a little bit of time every day working through a new part of the home, from the one kitchen cabinet to the hall closet.
A little bit every day goes a long way.
Start a new hobby
Do you dedicate time every day to something you love? Start a new hobby or pick up an old one once again and find time every day to work on something just for you, just for fun.
I commit time to better myself.
Start volunteering
If you’ve been looking to give back to your community, now is the time! Find an organization that has similar values to your own and volunteer time every week to help them out.
I support others and myself.
Take a social media break
There’s no doubt that social media can affect our mental health. Take a step back for the month by deleting the apps from your phone, and avoid going on a desktop to see what everyone is up to.
I put my mental health first.
Conclusion: new month, new goals
That’s it for my new month, new goals! Use these as inspiration to start your own goals whenever works best for your schedule. In no time, you’ll have instilled new habits and healthy mindsets.
