Three big supermarkets – Lidl, Aldi and Sainsbury’s – have announced that they are massively reducing the price of their Christmas veggies from next week.
From 15th December you’ll be able to get lots of festive seasonal produce for just 19p in Lidl stores.
Sainsbury’s is doing the same – but from the 18th December (with prices starting at 19p).
Aldi has said it will drop the price of its “Super Six’ veggies from the 18th December too.
What does this mean for you?
In Lidl you’ll be able to grab a 1.5kg bag of potatoes, a 500g bag of parsnips and 1kg bag of carrots all for 19p each. You’ll also be able to get 500g of sprouts and a single swede for the same price. That’s your Christmas veg sorted for under a £1!
Aldi are matching that but you can get 2kg of potatoes for 19p and they’re adding red and white cabbage to the deal too.
Sainsbury’s aren’t offering the reduced prices in Local stores but shoppers will be able to get the reduced priced veg when they order on line for delivery between 20 and 24th December.
In store, Sainsbury’s customers will be able to buy an even bigger bag of potatoes (2.5kg) for only 19p, as well as 1kg bag of carrots and 500g of parsnips as well as 500g of brussels sprouts – all for 19p each.
Other supermarkets haven’t yet announced that they are joining the price war, but if past years are anything to go by, they won’t be far behind!
