The Lendi Group has made a new senior appointment designed to boost the home loan platform’s product innovation and technology.
Travis Tyler (pictured above) will take on the role of group chief product officer (CPO) on January 30 and will report directly to Lendi Group CEO David Hyman, according to information provided by Lendi Group, which consists of online home loan platform Lendi, broker franchise network Aussie and Domain Home Loans.
Speaking of his new appointment, Tyler said he said he was extremely proud to be playing such a critical role in one of Australia’s fastest growing fintechs.
“Lendi’s industry leading technology has nearly a decade of growth, being one of the original disruptors in the banking and finance industry,” Tyler said.
“Now the group is entering an even more exciting phase, continuing to pave the way for lending simplicity in Australia. The evolution of Lendi technology is creating a home loan platform that not only best serves customers but will also continue to evolve the way brokers do business both now and into the future.”
Tyler is highly regarded in the industry as a fintech executive, with nearly 20 years’ experience in both banking and open banking industries. He joins Lendi Group from Zip Co where he was chief product officer.
Prior to this, he was chief product and marketing officer at neobank 86 400 which transformed into ubank in May 2022, where he was a part of the founding team that resulted in a successful acquisition by NAB. Tyler also has many years of banking experience with both Westpac and St.George Bank in different roles.
Lendi Group CEO David Hyman said Tyler was a highly respected fintech executive who would bring a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the group by growing Lendi Group’s customer, product and innovation agenda.
“As a group, our mission is steadfast and unchanged in that we are committed to changing the way Australian’s experience property lending,” Hyman said.
“This involves a growing and heavy investment in both product innovation and technology in order to cement our unique position in market, transforming lending for both customers, our brands and our brokers.”
Tyler’s appointment follows the news of two Lendi co-founders departing the company, Mortgage Professional Australia reported in November. Founding partner Mark Kalajzich has now left the company and Martin Lam will remain with the group until June 30, 2023.
“While each of the founders have defined roles within the business, I want to reiterate that we have all been equally invested in the [Lendi] platform,” Hyman said in an email to staff.
“[Co-founder and COO] Sebastian [Watkins] and I will not only be heavily involved in this transition, but we are committed as ever to ensure the successful rollout of this industry-leading technology to the Aussie network.”
