At Chime, our mission is to help our members achieve financial peace of mind. We believe there’s even more we can do to help people, and that begins with improving access to higher education and skills – the foundation for lifelong prosperity. Enter the Chime Scholars Foundation.
Why we do it
We live in a country with a shrinking middle class and an increasing economic divide between our highest earners and those who are financially insecure. The best way to address this economic divide is to expand educational opportunities. This initiative is personal for Chime Co-founder & CEO Chris Britt, who benefitted from both tuition assistance and community support in his educational journey.
Through scholarships and partnerships, the Chime Scholars Foundation will help everyday people complete degrees and certifications to expand career pathways. We understand a four-year college education isn’t right for everyone. That’s why our scholarship program expands to vocational training.

This scholarship has helped me to continue with my studies and be more focused on doing well in school rather than being worried about how to pay for it. It has given me a chance to take more courses than I planned. Also, being a recipient of this scholarship has opened so many professional doors already. I can’t wait to excel this semester.
