Chartered Financial Planner Advanta Wealth has signed a three year deal to provide financial advice and education to members of the Rugby Players Association (RPA).
Under the deal, Advanta will offer financial advice and education to all RPA members.
Players covered will include Premiership Rugby squads, the England Women Red Roses and the RPA Retired Players’ members.
The RPA describes itself as the “collective voice” of professional rugby players in England. It represents more than 800 male and female current rugby players, as well as more than 400 former players.
Mark Pearson, Advanta chief commercial officer, said: “We are delighted to form this wealth management partnership with the RPA and to bring the knowledge of our advisers and our commitment to Financial Planning and education to the RPA’s members.”
He added: “Announcing this partnership at the start of the Six Nations championship and in the lead up to the Rugby World Cup is at an incredibly busy time for the squads. Ensuring that they have access to high quality advice ensures that their focus can be on the pitch and that their finances are in safe hands.”
Stuart Munday, the RPA’s chief operating officer, said: “We are delighted to have agreed this significant partnership with Advanta Wealth, who join us as our Official Wealth Management Partner. Our values around Financial Planning and the wellbeing of players align closely with Advanta Wealth and we have no doubt that they will provide invaluable expertise to our members.”
Advanta Wealth is a growing Financial Planning firm with four offices in the UK, London, Glasgow, Dundee and Esher. It completed six acquisitions in 2022 and is seeking further acquisitions in 2023 using investment from Beech Tree Private Equity.
