Many people wonder what to sell online to make some easy money. Today, I decided to make a list of 10 good ideas for you.
If you’re like me, most of these items get tossed in the trash or given away depending on what it is. However, it might surprise you to learn that you can actually make some money off these items!
These are all things that most people at some point have on hand to get rid of.
What to Sell Online:
1 – Sell Digital Printables
Digital printables are easy to make and in great demand! People buy them like crazy on sites like Etsy.
The best thing about them is that you can make them one time and then sell them over and over! So the hard work is just done once.
Also, you don’t need graphic design experience to make them. Pretty much anyone can do it!
Go here to get more information on how this works. It’s a great way to sell online for true passive income.
2 – Sell Your CDs & DVDs
A lot of us don’t use our old CDs and DVDs anymore thanks to mp3 players and instant streaming. But these used items are not totally worthless.
One idea is to trade them in using Amazon’s popular trade-in program and receive Amazon gift codes equal to what your item(s) are worth.
If you’d prefer to just get the cash for your used media, see how much Decluttr will give you for your used CDs and DVDs.
3 – Sell Your Books
There are a ton of websites that will pay you for your used books. If you can’t find any of these cash for books sites that will take your used books, consider selling them used on Ebay or the Amazon Marketplace.
If you have any old magazines lying around, do a search on Ebay to see how much people are charging (and making) off of similar year issues. You might be surprised at how much you can get per issue for things you were thinking of sending to the junk pile.
4 – Sell Your Coupons
When you’re thinking about what products to sell online from home, coupons probably do not occur to you!
But hang on to what you have and don’t be so quick to throw them in the trash. There are people who need the coupons you don’t want and are willing to pay for them.
However, it’s important to note that you can’t legally sell coupons because most coupons will have something on them prohibiting that. But you can give them away and then charge for the time you spend cutting, sorting, and shipping them. So if you sell them on Ebay, make sure you include that in your listing.
Ebay is probably the best place to list your coupons (I’ve bought them there myself before). Most people list them in lots rather than individually unless they are high dollar coupons.
5 – Sell Your Electronics
Throwing your electronics in the trash is bad for the environment, and it’s also a waste because there are many things you can get cash for.
Before you throw away an old cell phone, mp3, or DVD player, look it up on Gazelle and see what you can get for it. Electronics are some of the best products to sell online to make money.
6 – Sell Your Ink Cartridges
There is a lot of demand for used ink cartridges. Some sites, like Ink Jet Buyer and TonerBuyer, will give you cash for your empty cartridges.
If you don’t want to bother with using those sites to get cash and you have a child or grandchild in school, check to see if the school will take them. Schools can often get money for empty ink cartridges and will accept what you have.
7 – Sell Your VHS Tapes
I’m willing to bet that at least some of you have some VHS tapes on hand that you don’t watch anymore. Most people believe these are totally worthless because pretty much everything has come out on DVD, right?
Wrong! There are actually many movies that were never released on DVD. If you happen to have a VHS tape of a movie that is not available on DVD, you could be sitting on a nice chunk of cash!
Go through your old VHS tapes and see if any are any that have not been released on DVD. The easiest way to do this is with an Amazon search. It will be mostly obscure titles that have not been released on DVD.
8 – Sell Your Buttons
Do you have a lot of buttons lying around? People will buy them! They are useful to people for not only sewing, but also crafts. Here’s an article with information on selling buttons, although eBay appears to be the most obvious option for this.
And that wraps up our list! Good luck to you with your online selling!
