Elevate K-12 Review – Work Remotely as a K-12 Teacher

If you meet the qualifications and are looking for a work from home teaching job you can do during the day, working for Elevate K12 might be ideal.

The company has won lots of awards and have in the past been rated as the #1 math resource choice for schools nationwide.

Working For Elevate K-12

As a teacher for Elevate, you will work remotely doing live sessions for K-12 students. The students you teach will all be together in a brick and mortar classroom, so this is not one-on-one teaching.

You will be live-streamed to them on a screen at the front of the room as you teach.

There will be a “classroom assistant” physically in the room with them to help them with their work. But you will not be physically there. You can work from anywhere you have a quiet environment.

Elevate K-12 is hiring for teachers in different subject areas at different times.

How Much Does Elevate K-12 Pay?

The amount you earn as a teacher for Elevate K-12 varies depending on the subject you teach. However, most subjects pay $35 hourly or more. You’re also given another set rate for any prep time outside the actual teaching that you do.

Each teaching job description states the rate you will earn per hour.

Note these are independent contractor positions, so no taxes will be taken out of your pay, and there are no benefits.

Are You Qualified?

To teach for Elevate K-12, you must be a US-based state certified teacher, with an active certification (not expired).

The Schedule

Elevate K-12 only offers part-time hours. They state that most of their teachers work just 20 hours per week.

You must have a daily available time block of at least three consecutive hours, Monday through Friday, 8am – 4pm EST.

Teaching occurs only during the school year with Elevate K-12, so there will be no work availability in June and July most of the time.

Tech Requirements

There is no big long list of extensive requirements. All you need to do the work as an online tutor for Elevate is a desktop or laptop computer with a reliable internet connection and a quiet environment.

Feedback

Elevate K-12 gets a solid 4 stars from Glassdoor. You will definitely want to read through those if you’re interested in teaching for this company.

Teachers love the flexibility and of course being able to work from home. The pay rate is good as well.

As far as complaints, teachers don’t like that it’s just part-time with no benefits. But, you know going in that it’s part-time and that, because you work as an independent contractor, you will not qualify for the benefits.

How Do You Apply?

If you want to apply, just visit their careers page here and see if any teaching jobs are open that you may be a fit for.

Looking For Even More Legit Remote Jobs?

FlexJobs is one of my favorite sites to use for finding remote jobs and learning about new companies that hire remotely.

Most of what I see there when I check the listings pays well above minimum wage and are known companies.

The great thing about FlexJobs is that they guarantee ALL listings are scam-free. They list hundreds of jobs — all of which are either remote or flexible in nature — five days per week.

There are also no ads on the site!

Because there are no ads, they do charge a membership fee since that is the only way they can see a return on their job-searching efforts.

But it’s cheap — you can get access for a few weeks for just $2.95 for 14 full days!

If you sign up and don’t like it, it’s very easy to cancel right away so you are not billed again. You can do it any point during your 14 days of checking things out.

Go here to check out FlexJobs.

Good luck to you!
