This collection of games are varied, colourful and entertaining and best of all they won’t cost you a penny! Oh and di I mention they are educational too. How cool is that!
Kids and gaming
Now I am a great believer in getting kids outside, playing with nature, riding their bikes or simply playing tag. I don’t think kids need ‘stuff’ when they have their own amazing imaginations. Despite this, we have to accept the fact modern kids NEED keyboard skills and a lot of their world will be digital. For times when it’s rainy and the crafts have all been done, or your stuck somewhere waiting, or you all need a break form each other or you need a little peace or a bath or to get on with the cooking – a little bit of gaming can be a good thing.
Where to find free gaming resources for your child
New games for the Xbox or PlayStation can be costly and they soon tire of them, kids do love variety, so finding free games is such a win! I love the ones over at culinaryschools.org/kids-games/ there are literally 100’s to choose from and ones for each age and skills set. Most of the games are foodie based so provide a great opportunity for you to engage your kids in learning more about food, recycling, organisation, heathy choices and the process of creating dishes.
Gaming can be both fun and educational after all. let me show you a couple of my top picks from their amazing collection.
This is a super simple game that even very young children will enjoy – all you have to do is point the mouse to where you see a difference and click – fun to do together and 3 scenarios to choose from.
I love this game..it starts super easy but after a few levels really speeds up and beating the time becomes trickier. It is great for kids concentration and observation skills and their reflexes! You simply have to match the fruit to it’s shape.
Loads of fun and can be played very quickly.
This is a multi level timed game where you have to line up 3 of the same chocolates to wipe them from the board – you have to both accurate and quick or you get timed out. I haven’t met a kids yet who doesn’t like chocolate! I found this great fun even at my ripe old age of 53!
There are 100’s more to choose from and they will cost you nothing. How is that for a great family budgeting freebie!
