This copycat fish and shrimp seasoning is made with common pantry ingredients and can easily be doubled or tripled (or more!) to create a bulk batch.

What Does Seafood Seasoning Contain?

This flavor-packed dry rub uses the following spices (you’ll find exact measurements in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post):

PRO TIPS/RECIPE NOTES

  • Our recipe makes a bulk batch of about 4 tbsp of seasoning – enough for 3 lbs of protein.
  • Use 1 1/4 tsp of the rub to season 1 lb of shrimp, crab, or fish.
  • For best results, toss seafood with 1-2 tbsp of olive oil and 1-2 tsp of fresh lime juice in addition to the fish seasoning.
  • If you create this seafood dry rub in bulk, store it in an air-tight container like a small mason jar for up to 6 months.

  • Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl and whisk thoroughly. Store in an air-tight container for up to 6 months.

    3 tsp garlic powder, 1.5 tsp kosher salt, 1.5 tsp black pepper, 1.5 tsp smoked paprika, 1.5 tsp onion powder, 3/4 tsp cumin, 3/4 tsp thyme, 3/4 tsp oregano, 1/4 tsp cayenne

  • Use 1 1/4 tsp of seasoning per 1 lb of fish or shrimp.

  • For best results, toss seafood with 1-2 tbsp of olive oil and 1-2 tsp of fresh lime juice in addition to the fish seasoning.
