Perspective adds £310m AUM with 4 acquisitions

Wealth manager and Financial Planner Perspective has added £310m to its assets under management following the completion of four further acquisitions.

The firm now has 110 Financial Planners and 410 staff working at 31 offices around the UK.

The acquisitions of Brighter Financial Services Ltd, Airedale Personal Financial Solutions Ltd, Granite Coast Ltd, and Brigham Wealth Management LLP bring completed deals for Perspective to 12 so far this year.

The firm made 12 acquisitions in 2022 and has completed 67 deals since it was founded 16 years ago.

The latest deals add around 1,100 clients between them.

• Brighter Financial Services is based in Halifax and was founded in 2010. The firm advises individuals, businesses and charitable trusts. Specialisms include retirement and estate planning, business strategy planning, investment and income management. It has rebranded to Perspective (Brighter) and will retain its office in Halifax. Ross McFadzean and John Jackson, directors of Brighter Financial Services, said: “A very positive element for us is access to the Perspective Academy, not only to assist with our growing client bank, but to ensure that there is a strong future for our firm in the area.”

• Airedale Personal Financial Solutions was acquired by Perspective on 8 June, and will rebrand to Perspective (Home Counties) to join several other acquisitions including Searchlight Investments. Buckingham-based Airedale were looking for someone to acquire the firm due to its directors nearing retirement. Norman Foley and Trevor Herbert, directors of Airedale Personal Financial Solutions said: “Our attention has been drawn towards succession planning as we approach retirement ourselves, to ensure the future continuity of service to all our valued and loyal clients.”

• Granite Coast is a Financial Planning firm based in Cambridge. The firm was founded in 2012 and specialises in investment management. Stephen Clifton, chairman of Granite Coast, said: “Everyone we have met and had contact with from Perspective has given us great confidence that they will offer the care and client service we believe is essential. Whilst Perspective has the scale of a national group, they successfully retain the feel of a local firm. Their commitment to maintaining a local office in Cambridge and taking on our excellent team was a key element to our decision to join them.”

• Perspective completed its acquisition of Harrogate-based Brigham Wealth Management on 9 June. David Bringham and his clients will join Perspective’s North East hub. David Brigham, managing partner of Brigham Wealth Management, said: “Having worked on my own for a number of years, I decided the time was right to access help and support from a larger firm, including assistance with the increasing burden and cost of regulation.”

Ian Wilkinson, CEO of Perspective, said the firm has its biggest ever pipeline of acquisitions. The pipeline includes both large and small firms and the firm expects to make further acquisitions this year.
